Café Flora has been a full-service restaurant since 2012, following town approval of the eatery’s transition from a counter-order takeout spot that debuted in 2011.

“It’s amazing how fast time has gone,” Lomba-Lowenberg said Tuesday. “The other day, our 12-year-old son, Franz, was helping my husband with something and I looked at them and I thought how he was just 2 years old when we started as a (full-service) restaurant.”

During its first year as a full-service restaurant, Café Flora earned the Palm Beach Chamber of Commerce’s best new business award.

Since then, the restaurant (known as Café Via Flora in its early years) has expanded from its original 50 seats, including 36 outdoors. Sixteen more outdoor seats were added in 2016.

While there are daily specials, regular menu items include avocado Caesar salad, linguini with littleneck clams, chicken Bolognese with zucchini noodles, grilled N.Y. strip steak, and trofie pasta with shrimp and pesto.

Dinner entrees start at around $27. Lunch entrees start at around $21.

“This season has been so busy so we’re thinking of doing something to celebrate our 10th anniversary when next season starts,” Lomba-Lowenberg said. “We are so grateful to be thriving and for all the support.”
