Nickel & Nickel, established in 1997 by the partners of Far Niente wines, produces single-vineyard Napa wines.

In addition to cabernet sauvignon, its portfolio includes single-vineyard chardonnay, merlot and syrah wines.

The dinner starts with Alaskan King crab with Ossetra caviar, crispy leeks, citrus aioli and basil oil; the dish will be paired with 2020 Far Niente Chardonnay Napa Valley.

The second course features wood-grilled Spanish octopus with Marcona-almond romesco, smoked fingerling potatoes, roasted fennel and micro celery, paired with 2018 Nickel & Nickel Vaca Vista Oak Knoll.

Smoked New York strip steak with spiced parsnip puree, chanterelle mushrooms and black truffle is set for the third course, which will be served with 2017 Nickel & Nickel Sullenger Oakville.

Dessert is slated to spotlight vanilla-bean crème brulée with butterscotch-peach compote and toffee pecan. It will be paired with 2014 Dolce Late Harvest.

A Louis Roederer Estate brut sparkling wine will be served at the wine dinner’s opening reception with such hors d’oeuvres as sesame shrimp toast and smoked salmon crisps.

The dinner is $275 a person.
