Pastry chefs from numerous Palm Beach County restaurants, country clubs and hotels are donating their time and talent to bake Thanksgiving pies for a fundraiser benefiting Meals on Wheels of the Palm Beaches.

The pastry teams of three Palm Beach venues are donating their time and talent to help bake thousands of Thanksgiving pies that locals can buy for a good cause.

Café Boulud, The Beach Club and The Sailfish Club are among more than 15 area restaurants, country clubs and hotels participating as “pie masters” in Pie It Forward. The annual fundraiser of Meals on Wheels of the Palm Beaches — which provides nutritious meals to county seniors who are homebound and living alone — now is in its 8th year.

Eau Palm Beach Resort of Manalapan also is participating.

“Thanksgiving is a wonderful celebration, and everyone should be able to share a meal,” said pastry chef Julie Franceschini of Pie It Forward participant Café Boulud. “As chefs, we must think of everyone during these holidays.”

Apple, pecan and pumpkin pies for $30 each and Key Lime pies for $35 apiece can be pre-ordered online through Nov. 17 at www.mowpbpie.org.

A “Baker’s Bundle” for $100 includes three pies and a reusable tote bag.

Pre-ordered pies can then be picked on Nov. 22 between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. at the Palm Beach County Convention Center in West Palm Beach; Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium in Jupiter; and Duffy’s Sports Grill in Delray Beach.

A slice of pie or a whole pie can be purchased for a senior as part of Meals on Wheels of the Palm Beaches’ Dessert Fund. In addition, “virtual” pies can be purchased with a Meals on Wheels donation of $30 or $35.

“We’re grateful to the pie masters from our community who are donating more than 3,000 pies,” Meals on Wheels of the Palm Beaches Special Events Director Maura Nelson said. “Every pie purchased underwrites a week of nutritious meals we’re able to deliver to a homebound senior in Palm Beach County.”

Other clubs and restaurants participating in the event are Addison Reserve in Delray Beach; Duffy’s Sports Grill in Delray Beach; The Polo Club in Boca Raton; Bear Lakes Country Club in West Palm Beach; Admiral's Cove in Jupiter; Boca Grove Country Club in Boca Raton; Wycliffe Country Club in Wellington; the Kitchen in West Palm Beach; Charlie & Joe's at Love Street in Jupiter; Lost Tree Club in North Palm Beach; Palm Beach County Convention Center in West Palm Beach; Delray Dunes in Delray Beach; and Sandy James Fine Foods & Catering in West Palm Beach.
