Disney addresses uptick in fights at parks

In this article:

Yahoo Finance Live anchors Brian Sozzi and Brad Smith discuss Disney’s behavior warning to guests as in-park fights begin to escalate.

Video Transcript

BRAD SMITH: The happiest place on Earth is issuing a not so happy warning. Disney is urging Florida and California park attendees to be the magic you want to see in the world after in-park fights began to escalate and warned of the consequences to unruly behavior. All right, so a brouhaha stirring in Magic Kingdom.

BRIAN SOZZI: Brad, imagine if you're in line a Disney ride, just paid $10,000 for a trip to get punched in the face by somebody who tries to cut you.

BRAD SMITH: Is that what's happening?

BRIAN SOZZI: There's been brawls out there. You've seen these videos starting to pop up on social media, hence this warning from Disney. But who would have thought Disney would be a dangerous place to visit?

BRAD SMITH: Who's throwing fisticuffs waiting in line just to get on Magic Mountain or whatever-- Splash Mountain? I mean, at the end of the day, you go there to have a great experience and pay for some overpriced concessions and--

BRIAN SOZZI: Yeah. I think at this point, I'm just going to Disney if I were to take a trip there, of course, not to get punched in the face, but to see Bob Iger. Maybe he's there. Maybe I could take a photo with him and ask him about his turnaround plan. I'd be very excited to see Bob at Disney.

BRAD SMITH: I'm sure he's in Epcot, just hanging out, chilling, trying to turn everything around, and make sure that they are charting that kind of new path to leadership in the future.

But at the end of the day, yeah, bring your boxing gloves to Disney, I guess.
