Disney, Busch Gardens and Universal close due to Tropical Storm Nicole

Walt Disney World, Busch Gardens and Universal Studios in Orlando announced they will close in preparation of Tropical Storm Nicole. But they are keeping their reopening plans loose depending on where the storm moves.

Disney said they are closely monitoring the storm and making adjustments to their plan in accordance to National Weather Service updates. A press release states: “Walt Disney World Resort theme parks will have a phased closure beginning at 5 p.m. today and will remain closed through Thursday morning. Theme parks will likely not reopen at their regularly scheduled time Thursday.”

Universal’s Volcano Bay is currently closed and Universal Orlando Resort, including CityWalk, will close at 5 p.m. today. All resort hotels will remain open. A press release states: “We anticipate a phased and delayed reopening Thursday and will update once we assess conditions.

Busch Gardens announced that it will be closed Thursday, along with SeaWorld Orlando and Aquatica Orlando, which is also closed Wednesday. Tickets intended for use on the park closure dates have been extended through Dec. 31.
