This afternoon, Disney reserved a ton of slots for Fox features all the way into 2023. While we haven’t listed the entire Disney/Fox schedule, we’ve listed the notable changes and tallies below.

What’s interesting with all these changes is that the Star Wars films remain on Disney’s calendar, despite the recent departure of Game of Thrones duo David Benioff and D.B. Weiss as the lords of a new trilogy. Those dates remain as December 16, 2022; December 20, 2024, and December 18, 2026.

2020

Matthew Vaughn’s The King’s Man, which is already being promoted in theaters, is a prequel to his Kingsmen series starring Ralph Fiennes. It moves out of February 14, 2020, and all the way to September 18, 2020 against Paramount’s Michael B. Jordan Tom Clancy movie Without Remorse and Sony’s untitled Lord and Miller animation project.

New Regency/Fox’s Deep Water starring Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas, directed by Adrian Lyne, will open on November 13.

Ridley Scott’s The Last Duel, also from Fox, will open on Christmas next year and go wide on January 8, 2021. The pic stars Matt Damon, Adam Driver and Jodie Comer, along with Affleck (who also wrote). Logline: King Charles VI declares that Knight Jean de Carrouges settle his dispute with his squire by challenging him to a duel.

This brings the total Disney-Fox titles to 24 in 2020 — 12 from Big Fox and three from Fox Searchlight. Expect that latter number for that latter label to grow. The year kicks off with the Kristen Stewart Chernin Entertainment/Fox film Underwater. Marvel pics Black Widow and The Eternals, as a reminder, are anchored on May 1 and November 6.

2021

There are 21 releases for Fox/Disney this year, most of them untitled and including the wide expansion on The Last Duel. Expect that number to grow because it doesn’t yet include Searchlight releases. Of the 21, 10 belong to Fox.

Fox/Locksmith Animation’s Ron’s Gone Wrong, which was to open on November 6, 2020, is now debuting on February 26, 2021 against Universal’s untitled M. Night Shyamalan film.

Disney then RSVP’d seven slots for untitled Fox films this year: April 9, April 23, August 13, September 10, October 1, October 22 and December 3.

Also from Fox (date unchanged) is finally Avatar 2 on December 17.

Also Disney is RSVPing November 19 for an untitled live-action pic. This is the weekend leading into Thanksgiving, and Paramount has Dungeons & Dragons slated.

Hard titles with hard dates listed (and unchanged) are Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of Ten Rings on February 12, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness on May 7, a Pixar movie on June 18, Indiana Jones on July 9, and Thor: Love and Thunder on November 5.

2022

In total 21 films from Disney/Fox, not counting any Searchlight.

Fox/Blue Sky Anmination’s Nimona gets pushed from March 5, 2021 to January 14, 2022. That’s Martin Luther King Day weekend and Warner Bros has an event film already there.

And there are seven slots for Fox pics: January 7, April 8, June 10, September 16, October 21, November 11 and December. 23. This brings Fox’s total to eight in 2022, then 13 are from Disney. There’s no Avatar pic capping the end of this year, but (unchanged), there’s an untitled Star Wars pic on December 16.

Disney fare breaks down as follows: a Pixar movie goes from March 18 to March 11 against Universal’s untitled musical event.

Then there’s a Disney live-action pic on March 25. An untitled one on August 12. And an untitled Marvel movie on the new hot date after Joker: October 7. An untitled Disney live action pic on October 7 was removed from the sked.

Hard Marvel dates (all unchanged) are February 18, Black Panther 2 on May 6, July 29 and October 7.

2023

Newly scheduled for Big Fox are six slots: January 13, March 24, June 9, September 15, October 20, November 10. Add in Avatar 3 (unchanged) on December 22 and that brings Fox’s total count to seven pics in a year where Disney/Fox counts 19 movies.

A Disney/Marvel pic will open February 17 in place of an untitled Disney live-action pic, which is removed from the sked. May 5, natch, is booked for Marvel, along with July 28 and November 3.

There are six untitled Disney live-action pics that will open on March 10, May 26, July 14, August 11, October 6 and December 15.

Pixar will have a pic on June 16 with Disney Animation booking November 22, the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.

Unchanged, untitled Marvel movies are on February 17, May 5, July 28 and November 3.
