Disney expands After Hours events, points to Typhoon Lagoon reopening

Walt Disney World is adding nights to its Disney After Hours events at Hollywood Studios as well as introducing the evenings to Epcot. The resort also says H2O Glow After Hours will be back at Typhoon Lagoon water park, which will reopen sometime this spring.

The After Hours sessions are a separately ticketed event that gives access to many rides and attractions after the park closes for the day. There are a limited number of After Hours tickets sold, which reduces wait times.

The H2O Glow event kicks off May 20. It was held last year at Typhoon Lagoon but not the previous two years due to pandemic precautions. Typhoon Lagoon closed with the rest of Disney World in March 2020, and it reopened in January 2022. Sister water park Blizzard Beach returned from the pandemic shutdown in March 2021. Between the pandemic and regular maintenance, Disney World has not had both water parks operating at the same time in almost three years.

Typhoon Lagoon’s most recent downtime began in November. Disney did not share a Blizzard Beach timeline, but it is currently open. Disney World’s website lists hours through March 11.

Magic Kingdom also is in the midst of an After Hours run, which goes through March 27. Four of the first five sessions in January and February were sell-outs.

Originally, Hollywood Studios’ After Hours nights were scheduled to end April 19. Disney now says there will be May and June events, but the tickets for the additions will go on sale March 3. The six After Hours evenings at DHS in January and February sold out.

Epcot will have 12 After Hours events spread across June, July and August. Tickets go on sale March 3. The park’s two newest rides — Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure — are listed on Disney World’s official website as available during After Hours, but the experiences are subject to change, it warns.

After Hours tickets for Hollywood Studios and Epcot cost between $129 and $149, depending on the date. H2O Glow tickets are $75 ($70 for ages 3-9). There are discounts available for Disney World annual passholders and Disney Vacation Club members.
