Disney finishes Candlelight Processional narrator lineup with ‘Shang-Chi,’ ‘Shark Tank’ stars

Walt Disney World has completed its list of narrators for the 2022 edition of Candlelight Processional at Epcot. Filling the final slots are two newbies: Simu Liu, star of the Marvel movie “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” and Daymond John, chief executive officer of FUBU, who appears as an investor on ABC’s “Shark Tank.”

Liu will lead off the first two nights of the holiday event, Nov. 25-26, the days after Thanksgiving. John is scheduled to read the Christmas story Dec. 7 and Dec. 9.

The full list comes a few days after a partial list had been released. Among the other first-time narrators this year will be Josh Gad, Mariska Hargitay, Raul Esparza and Gloria Estefan. The 2022 processional will mark the first time since 2019 that the event will include the gigantic choir made up of community members.

Candlelight Processional features the narrators telling the Christmas story, backed by the massed choirs, the Voices of Liberty a cappella group and a live orchestra at Epcot’s America Gardens Theater. It is part of the Epcot International Festival of the Holidays.

The performances are included with regular Epcot admission, although a date-specific, park-specific reservation is required. Candlelight Processional Dining Packages, which include guaranteed seating to the concert are on sale, Disney says.
