Disney+'s Lizzie McGuire reboot has confirmed that a classic character is coming back for it.

Back in August, Hilary Duff herself appeared at the Disney D23 Expo to announce a brand new sequel series of Lizzie McGuire, which will see her reunite with the show's creator Terri Minsky.

And now, she'll also be reunited with another familiar face in Adam Lamberg, who's reprising his role as David Gordon aka Gordo.

"Gordo was an essential piece of the puzzle to what made the original Lizzie McGuire so authentic and beloved," Duff said in a statement. "I couldn't imagine the series without him. I can't wait for fans to see what he's up to 15 years later and how he fits into Lizzie's adult world."

In a video post on Disney+'s official Instagram account, Duff also confirmed that Jake Thomas will be reprising his role as Matt, Robert Carradine will be returning as her dad Sam and Hallie Todd is back as her mum Jo.

The show's official synopsis reads: "She seemingly has it all – her dream job as an assistant to a fancy New York City decorator, her dream guy and a picturesque Brooklyn apartment – but things aren't always as they seem.

"With a little help from her friends, her loving family and her 13-year-old alter-ego in animated form, Lizzie navigates the ups and downs of adulthood."

Disney+'s Lizzie McGuire series is expected to arrive sometime in 2020.
