Disney Is Making So Many of Its Classic Movies Available to Buy for Under $5
Remember how awesome it was when Amazon Prime started streaming a ton of movies that were meant to be in theaters to help combat boredom in the era of social distancing? Well, there are about to be so many more titles on your watch list: Disney is slashing the prices on a ton of its classic and new releases throughout April and May. And you don't even need a Disney+ account to see them.
According to a Walt Disney Studios press release from April 15, select movies will be available for purchase on U.S. digital platforms (i.e., Amazon, VOD, etc.) for only $4.99, with new titles added weekly. So far, it seems they'll be broken up by category, starting with "feel-good movies" from April 13 to 20. The first batch of films includes The Devil Wears Prada, Bohemian Rhapsody, Pretty Woman, 27 Dresses, and more. Honestly, I could use some Miranda Priestly in my life right now, even though she'd be disappointed in me because I haven't worn a bra or real pants in over a month.
From April 21 to 27 the studio is lowering prices on Disneynature titles, including Earth, Monkey Kingdom, and African Cats, for all you cool cats and kittens. Personally, though, I'm most excited about the Princess Collection, launching from May 19 to 25, with the special price tag on classics like Aladdin, The Princess and the Frog, and Tangled.
Finally, something to watch while I make my fourth batch of Dole Whip. Here's a complete list of movies available for under $5 (and when you can buy), below:
