Spectrum TV customers will no longer have to pay for streaming Disney+ under a new deal between Spectrum’s parent company Charter Communications and the Walt Disney Co.

The two companies have announced that the ad-supported version of Disney+ (called Disney+ Basic) is now included in all Spectrum TV Select packages nationwide at no additional cost. Disney+ is normally $7.99/month.

As part of the two companies’ new carriage agreement reached in September 2023 after a 12-day blackout, Charter video customers can now stream entertainment from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic, including movies, TV shows and original programs through the Xumo Stream Box or any other Disney+ supported device.

Spectrum TV Select customers can learn more and activate their Disney+ Basic subscription by creating an account for free by going to this link. Eligible customers who already have Disney+ can go to the website or app where they signed up for Disney+ to manage their subscriptions.

In addition, ESPN+ will be added to the video package for Spectrum TV Select Plus subscribers, the more sports-centric tier of the TV packages, at no additional cost. The access to ESPN+ will begin in the coming months, Charter said Thursday.

ESPN+ includes more than 30,000 exclusive, live sports events, including exclusive UFC events, NHL live games, college sports from more than 20 conferences, international soccer, exclusive PGA Tour LIVE coverage, Grand Slam tennis, international cricket and more.
