The facial recognition entry is optional.
- On our Tech Minute, you've heard of smart recognition, facial recognition on smartphones. But now Disney is reportedly testing the technology as well.
A Walt Disney World blog reports the park tested the feature for guests. According to the blog, the technology captures an image of a guest's face and links it to a guest's magic band or park admission.
Park officials say the move comes in an effort to integrate more touch-free features throughout the park. The facial recognition entry is optional, and tests are ongoing throughout the park. If you're worried about data security, Disney told the blog the images captured will only be stored for 30 days.
