Dispatch centers unite for improved services

Jun. 17—WILLIMANTIC — The Willimantic Switchboard Association will have access to a more efficient dispatch system for fire and EMS services through a new agreement with Tolland County Mutual Aid Fire Service.

The agreement was announced during a press conference at the Willimantic dispatch center on Bank Street Wednesday.

" This, I think, is really cutting- edge, very innovative," Willimantic Fire Chief Marc Scrivener said. Scrivener said the dispatch association has been under pressure by various towns to find efficiencies.
