New display headed to Tulare Historical Museum

The Tulare Historical Museum’s upcoming display highlights influential African Americans throughout Tulare County’s history.

The Tulare Historical Museum's display, African American Trailblazers of Tulare County, highlights the accomplishments and hardships of Colonel Allen Allensworth, founder of the historic town Allensworth, as well as Colonel Charles Young, Sequoia National Park’s first African American superintendent.

The exhibit will be available to view starting Feb. 3 through Feb. 28 in the museum’s Depot Gallery. The Tulare Historical Museum is also hosting an opening reception from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Feb. 3.
