Distinguished Young Women competitions set for Nov. 18-19

Nov. 8—The 2023 Distinguished Young Women pageant is set for to take place Nov. 18 and 19 at Caston High School.

Thirteen area high school seniors will compete across two days to determine the Cass County, Fulton County and Winamac Distinguished Young Women.

The Cass County competition will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18 and the Fulton County and Winamac competition will begin at 6 p.m. on Sunday Nov. 19.

The Cass County competition includes Haley Logan (Caston), Aimee Martinez (Logansport), Baylee Rowan (Pioneer), and Emily Sanchez (Logansport), Julina Sherrick (Caston) and Alejandra Zamora-Aria (Logansport.)

Fulton County competitors are Breanna Amezquita (Caston), Kaylee Desonia (Rochester), Alexa Finke (Caston) and Macee Hinderlider (Caston).

Winamac contenders are Destini Gould, Allie Sanders and Alexa Schultz.

Admission is free. Those attending should enter through the south gym lobby doors.

Last year's Distinguished Young Woman of Cass County was Luna Tafolla (Logansport). Alivia Paul, (Caston) won the Fulton County competition and Grace Wenzler (Winamac High School) won the Winamac competition.

The young women will be competing for scholarship money. The winner of each program will go to the Distinguished Young Women of Indiana competition in February.
