District 12: Area players recognized by district coaches

As another basketball season nears the finish line, the District 12 Basketball Coaches Association recently recognized the district's top players and coaches.

Maysville's Hayden Jarrett was the Division II Player of the Year, while Dave Brown received the division's Boys Coach of the Year award, and Jared Cox was named the Boys Assistant Coach of the Year.

Tri-Valley's Lexi Howe was tabbed the Division I-II Player of the Year, while Sheridan's J.D. Walters was named the Division II Girls Coach of the Year and West Muskingum's Josh Middleton was tabbed the Division III Girls Coach of the Year.

Mike Rodich of Sheridan was tabbed the Girls Assistant of the Year and Linda Taylor of Maysville was given the Distinguished Service Award.

Other honors included: Official – Lucas Hutchison; Distinguished Service: East – Tom Owings (Union Local); Boys’ Division III Players of the Year – Denali Jackson and Alex Reese (Martins Ferry); Boys’ Division III Coach of the Year – Derek Edwards (Martins Ferry); Boys’ Division IV Player of the Year – Bede Lori (Caldwell); Boys’ Division IV Coach of the Year – Jon Perkins (Monroe Central) and Mark Romick (River); Girls’ Division III Player of the Year – Regean Vinskovich (Union Local); Girls’ Division IV Player of the Year – Kelsey Harlan (River) and Girls’ Division IV Coach of the Year – Mike Cisler (Frontier).
