District cross country 2022: Satellite sweep, Viera boys, Melbourne girls get wins
Satellite High's boys won their eighth consecutive title as the Scorpions boys and girls teams claimed District 7-3A cross country wins at McLarty Stadium on Saturday.
Devin Makousky of the host Raiders was the No. 1 boys individual, running 5,000 meters in 15:49. Andrew Mahorner of Satellite (16:19) and Logan Chapman of Rockledge (16:30) followed.
Malinda Underwood led the girls' race with a time of 17:44, the fourth fastest time in district competition statewide during the week. Merritt Island's Keira Merrick took third at 18:44, and her teammate Brooke Yates (19:03) placed fifth.
Viera's Cameron Raney (15:42.83) and Aedan Rendek (15:49.00) produced the top two boys times in District 5-4A, and the Hawks won the team championship with three of the top seven finishers.

Melbourne won the girls trophy as Aubrey Orcutt (19:25.75) was the top runner from Brevard County.
