Disturbing photo of brutal Queens subway station attack released by NYPD

Police on Sunday released a photo and video of a ruthless May 24 attack on a man at a Queens subway station, capturing the image of an assailant who punched and slashed his victim before stealing $20.

The victim, 57, was sitting inside a stopped A train at the Ozone Park-Lefferts Blvd. station at 7:40 p.m., when the crook — without uttering a word — punched him in the face, stabbed him in the chest and then grabbed the man’s wallet.

He then ran off, taking the bloodied victim’s wallet with $20 inside, police said.

The victim was treated at Jamaica Hospital.

As of May 26, assaults in the transit system had surged 32% for the year compared with the same period in 2020; robberies were down 47%.
