Divers find Challenger space shuttle wreckage

STORY: Divers found remains of the Challenger space shuttle

off the East coast of Florida

The crew were initially looking for the wreckage of a World War Two aircraft

as part of a History Channel documentary

Instead, they found a 20-foot section of NASA's space shuttle Challenger

which exploded and broke apart shortly after its launch in 1986

All seven crew members were killed, including school teacher Christa McAuliffe

It remains one of the worst disasters in the history of the U.S. space program
