Diving into the Staunton City Council race: Where The News Leads

Hello, and welcome to Where the News Leads! This weekly series will be centered around some of the stories we've written here at The News Leader.

It can be a space for us to respond to your comments and questions, drop cool tidbits that we had to cut from stories, or just look ahead at what's coming up in the Shenandoah Valley.

On this edition, we bring in youth, education, and sports reporter Patrick Hite to discuss the Staunton City Council race, and in particular, their thoughts from a local candidate forum that was held this past weekend by Building Bridges for the Greater Good.

As part of the forum, candidates were asked about Uniontown development, the Staunton Police Department, and potential Middle River Regional Jail expansion, and Patrick walks us through their answers. We also talk about the atmosphere around the race and what the attitude has been from candidates throughout the campaign.
