Dixie Fire Advances as Blaze Nears One Million Acres

Firefighters in California continued to battle the raging Dixie Fire as the blaze neared one million acres on Friday, September 10, according to officials.

A total of 4,894 personnel were fighting the flames on Friday, with the area covered now reaching 953,696 acres.

Photographer Mitch Wallen, who said he was in Old Station, Shasta County, posted footage showing firefighting aircraft. Evacuation orders have been issued in the area.
