DNC: Former Presidential Candidate Pete Buttigieg and Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer

Former two-time mayor of South Bend, Indiana, Pete Buttigieg, won the Iowa caucuses in February. A Navy veteran who served in Afghanistan, he is the first openly gay person to ever win a presidential primary or caucus. Buttigieg’s endorsement of Joe Biden helped him cinch the nomination. Buttigieg is slated to speak at the Democratic National Convention. Then, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) joins Costa to speak about her work to help win back the Upper Midwest for Democrats this election cycle, the challenges of reopening safely during a pandemic and the possibility of having a role in the administration should Biden win in November.
