ANSON - Country and western/cowboy singer Michael Martin Murphey is back in West Texas, playing the Texas Cowboys' Christmas Ball at historic Pioneer Hall on Thursday night.

The music will start at 8 p.m. with Murphey on stage at 9. He will perform traditional dances along with music from his second "Cowboy Songs" album, released in 1991,

His chart hits include "Geronimo's Cadillac," "Wildfire" and "Carolina in the Pines." His country hits include "What's Forever For" and "Cowboy Logic."

The Ball continues Friday and Saturday evenings with West Texas' own Jody Nix and his Texas Cowboys on stage.
