Dobson launches fiber internet in Marlow

Feb. 23—MARLOW — Fiber internet options will make their way into the homes and businesses of the Marlow community over the next several months.

On Wednesday, Feb. 22, the Marlow Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting with Dobson Fiber. The ribbon cutting signifies Dobson Fiber's launch into the City of Marlow to get fiber internet into Marlow's homes and businesses.

Through this process, Marlow residents will see more choices when it comes to internet options within the community.

CEO at Dobson Fiber Francisco Maella said after kickstarting the project in 2022, they are preparing to begin their service.

"Dobson began this multi-million dollar project to build a fiber network throughout Marlow in the summer of 2022 and we are ready to take orders for service," he said. "We have worked hard to bring the best fiber network offered in the United States, capable of delivering residential speeds up 10 gigabits per second and 100 gigabits per second to business customers."

Maella said their roots run deep in Oklahoma.

"Our commitment to launching innovative products and the latest technology is unwavering to the businesses and residents we serve," Maella said. "We have been in telecom since 1936 serving local communities, and this is another example of our commitment to deploying fiber-based networks in all parts of the state."

Chief Strategy Officer for Dobson Fiber Jim Horsburgh said they are excited to be part of the Marlow community.

"We've seen exceptional customer adoption in markets we serve and are thrilled to further our footprint in more markets across Oklahoma and Arkansas," he said. "We have expanded our fiber network to reach the vast majority of the homes and businesses here."

Director of Marketing Ali Clark said they are thrilled about the completion of their network, and to be able to officially take orders in Marlow. She said the company is ready to be a part of the community and provide fast internet speeds.

"The entire community in Marlow is now ready for orders," she said.

Clark said Dobson Fiber has been in Oklahoma since 1936 with a telephone company in Western Oklahoma.

"Our headquarters are in Oklahoma City," she said. "We have markets across the entire state of Oklahoma, as well as Arkansas."

Community members can visit the Dobson Fiber website for notifications about address eligibility for fiber internet by inputting an address, as well as placing an order.

"Dobson Fiber currently offers residential fiber internet services in nine Oklahoma communities including Atoka, Duncan, Enid, Lawton, McLoud, Newalla, Panama, Shady Point, Taloga, Vici, Waurika and Weatherford in Oklahoma," a release states. "In Arkansas, Dobson Fiber provides residential fiber internet services in Booneville, Lavaca and Ozark. Dobson Fiber has additional community commitments announcing soon."
