Doctor says pauses in COVID vaccine trials show ‘the system is working’

Dr. Ashish Jha, dean of the Brown University school of public health, tells TODAY that he’s “really heartened” by Eli Lilly and Johnson & Johnson pausing their coronavirus vaccine trials, because “we want to make sure that the safety guardrails we usually have are in place.” But he says he’s “worried” about the rising number of U.S. coronavirus cases as we head into winter.
