Doctor Who Series 10 Starts April 2017
The Doctor is back… in April 2017.
According to Peter Capaldi - that’s The Doctor to his friends - the new series of ‘Doctor Who’ will head to BBC One in April 2017… and there’s a Christmas Special coming, too.
“We’ll be on at Christmas,” he told ‘Doctor Who’ fan Lucy Crewe. “And then it starts again in April, I think.”

Of course, this will be the tenth series of ‘Doctor Who’ since the show returned to our screens in 2005… as well as the third series to star Peter Capaldi as The Doctor. It’s also the debut of new companion, Bill (played by the lovely Pearl Mackie).
Bill has already made waves with her brief appearance in the official announcement earlier this year.
‘Doctor Who’ Series 10 will be the final series overseen by showrunner Steven Moffat before ‘Broadchurch’ creator Chris Chibnall takes the reins. But Chibnall is no stranger to ‘Doctor Who’ - after all, he previously wrote several episodes of the hit BBC sci-fi as well as its ‘Torchwood’ spin-off before taking on ‘Broadchurch’.
What does this mean for ‘Doctor Who’ fans?
Well, there’s still been no official announcement on when the show will return, but the BBC have previously confirmed that we can expect to see ‘Doctor Who’ back on BBC One in the spring. At least now we have a better idea exactly when that will be.
