Doctor Who actor David Tennant is celebrating his 52nd birthday with a sweet tribute from his wife, Georgia Tennant.
In a gushing Instagram post, Georgia posted a photo of the couple with the caption: "This is (apparently) 52. Happy Birthday to the best person most of us will ever know. The kindest of people, the cleverest of people, the funniest of people and the best dad of (many) people.
"Sometimes I wonder what I do to deserve him…but then I remember someone has to handle the social media x"
The comments section was flooded with comments from fans wishing the Scottish actor a happy birthday.
The official Doctor Who Instagram account also released a new image of Tennant as The Doctor in honour of the actor’s birthday. "A new regeneration... with a familiar face? Find out later this year exactly what... what... WHAT is going on!” the post teased.
The Good Omens actor was revealed as the Fourteenth Doctor in the last Doctor Who special, which saw Jodie Whittaker's Thirteenth Doctor regenerate back into the Scottish actor.
Tennant originally portrayed the Time Lord between 2005 and 2010. Audiences can next see him in Doctor Who's 60th anniversary specials before Sex Education actor Ncuti Gatwa takes over the iconic role.
Tennant married Georgia in 2011, after the couple met on the set of the BBC sci-fi show where she played the Doctor's daughter.
The couple have welcomed four children together. The Staged actor formally adopted her eldest child Ty, who she has from a previous relationship, after they tied the knot.
Ty has followed in his family’s acting footsteps and has recently appeared in the Game of Thrones spin-off, House of the Dragon, playing Aegon II Targaryen. He will next be seen in the upcoming season of Good Omens.
Doctor Who returns later in 2023 on BBC One in the UK and Disney+ elsewhere. Meanwhile, in the US, the show airs on BBC America, with series 1-12 available on HBO Max. Classic Doctor Who streams on Britbox in the UK.
