New doctors and nurse practitioners join practices in Tri-Cities and Prosser

Tri-Cities and Prosser have new options for health care services, including doctors and nurse practitioners.

Specialties and focuses include family practice, cancer, surgery ,and neurodevelopmental and behavioral pediatrics.

Empowered Health doctor

Dr. Paul Monié, a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, is joining Empowered Health Institute in Richland this month.

The organization uses a monthly membership model to provide care, using a precision medicine approach that it says is personalized, proactive and preventative.

Monié has been practicing medicine in the Tri-Cities for more than a decade and is board certified in both family medicine and sports medicine.

He completed his residency in family medicine at the University of Wyoming and his residency in Sports Medicine at Riverstone Health in Billings, Mont. He also holds a master’s degree in public health.

Cancer center doctor

Dr. Andrew Roehrig has joined the Kadlec Tri-Cities Cancer Center in Kennewick.

He is accepting new radiation oncology patients.

“With extensive experience in caring for cancer patients from a variety of backgrounds, Dr. Roehrig brings a compassionate and personalized approach to his care,” Kadlec said in an announcement.

Lourdes surgeons

Dr. Ashlea McManus and Dr. Garrett Pool have joined Lourdes Surgical Services in Pasco as general surgeons.

McManus is seeing patients for hernia repairs, gallbladder, appendix and soft tissue issues, colorectal issues, stomach, duodenal, and liver issues, peritoneal dialysis, cancer and cancer related issues, endocrine and breast diseases, and more.

She completed her undergraduate education at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, British Columbia. She earned her medical degree at Ross University School of Medicine in Portsmouth, Dominica, and completed her general surgery residency at The Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Pool has provided medical services for 20 years.

His training includes general, trauma, colorectal, bariatric, breast and endocrine procedures with limited experience in vascular, thoracic, plastics and hand surgery. He also performs minimally invasive robotic surgery.

He received his medical degree from Oregon Health & Science University School of Medicine and completed his residency in general surgery at Bassett Healthcare Network in Cooperstown, N.Y.

Trios surgeon

Dr. Jillian Thayer, a general surgeon, has joined Trios Care Center at Southridge — Fifth Floor Clinic, 730 Plaza Way in Kennewick.

She sees patients for broad general surgery, breast surgery, cancer surgery, complex hernias, peritoneal dialysis catheters and chemo ports, minimally invasive surgery, and more.

Thayer was born and raised in Washington state and attended the University of Washington. After completing her medical education at Drexel College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Penn., she returned home to the Pacific Northwest for a general surgery residency at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle.

“Dr. Thayer brings a wealth of knowledge from many respected institutions that will be invaluable to our patients,” said Emilia Keener, senior market director of physician services.

Kennewick nurse practitioner

Cori Tardif, an advance registered nurse practitioner, has joined Miramar Health Center in Kennewick.

After leaving a career in music, she found that caring for others was her calling. She particularly enjoys working in community health, where access to critical, compassionate care is available to everyone.

Tardif looks forward to collaborating with her patients, hearing their concerns, and helping them achieve their health goals, according to Mirimar Health.

She received her master of nursing, family nurse practitioner from Walden University in Minneapolis, Minn.

Tri-Cities doctor takes Prosser job

Dr. David Barber, who has worked in emergency departments in the Tri-Cities for eight years, has joined Prosser Memorial Health as its director of emergency medicine and will be seeing patients.

He is on the clinical faculty at Pacific Northwest University and is an assistant professor at the Washington State Univeristy Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine.

Barber, a Tri-Cities native, is bilingual in English and Spanish.

Prosser family nurse practitioner

Jonathon Blanchard, a family nurse practitioner, has joined Prosser Memorial Health’s Prosser Clinic.

He graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s in nursing from Washington State University and then earned his doctorate of nursing practice there.

Coming from a small town in Idaho where healthcare was not always accessible, he focused heavily on rural care and community engagement during his studies.

He previously was charge nurse for the Lourdes Medical Center emergency department in Pasco. He is family practice certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Liz Vossenkemper, an advanced registered nurse practitioner, has joined United Family Center in Kennewick, which provides behavior health and family services.

She earned a master of science in pediatric nursing from Marysville University in St. Louis, Mo., and has worked for a decade in neurodevelopmental and behavioral pediatrics.
