Dodge announced today it will begin selling the 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V-8 from its Challenger and Charger Redeyes as a crate engine. Rated at 807 horsepower and 717 lb-ft of torque, running on 91-octane fuel, it's available to order right now for your next project, priced from $21,807.

Officially called the "Hellcrate Redeye," the engine joins Dodge's four other crate engines in its parts lineup, slotting just below the 1000-horsepower "Hellephant" 426 cubic-inch V-8, and the standard 707-horsepower "Hellcrate" engine. Upgrades found in the Redeye model included a larger-displacement supercharger (2.7 liters vs. 2.4 liters), increased boost pressure, a higher rpm (6500), forged internals, and a revised valve spring design that Dodge says improves oiling by 33 percent. The oil pan is designed prevent starvation under acceleration, able to keep lubrication flowing at up to 1.8 g.

The engine, which is dyno-tested for 42 minutes before being shipped, includes a throttle body, injectors, coil packs, a water pump, and a flexplate. Dodge will also sell you parts to mount a manual transmission, as well as accessory drive pieces like an alternator, a power steering pump, belts, pulleys, and more at an additional cost.

The Hellcrate Redeye is available to order right now, so if you've been needing an engine to power your vintage Charger—and are willing to drop over 20 grand for an engine—this might be the motor for you.
