Power outage causes 25-minute delay at Dodger Stadium, which sounds about right in 2020
If you needed “stadium blackout” on your 2020 sports bingo card, congratulations.
The Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Angels were moving along in a meaningless game on Saturday. Neither team could change its playoff standing; the 41-17 Dodgers are guaranteed the top seed throughout the MLB playoffs, while the Angels are once again on the outside looking in.
However, the game was brought to a standstill in the seventh inning due a sudden power outage at Dodger Stadium. Funnily enough, the blackout almost exactly coincided with the local basketball team reaching the NBA Finals.
It did not take long for things to get weird.

Meanwhile, others took the opportunity to take a breather. On the field.

Meanwhile, certain inanimate objects at the stadium went from “slightly creepy” to “very creepy.”

It ended up taking about 25 minutes for stadium operators to get the power back on at the stadium. The game eventually got back underway and the Dodgers held on to win, 7-6.
