If you’ve become fascinated by the story of "The Watcher House"—whether since early news of the eerie tale broke or the release of Netflix’s dark series The Watcher—you’re probably wondering: Who lives in the Watcher house now? Even after the bizarre series of events (which you can analyze through our detailed timeline) that took place there, the home did, in fact, find new owners.

But first, let’s recap: Shortly after Derek and Maria Broaddus purchased 657 Boulevard in Westfield, New Jersey, they started to receive creepy letters from a stalker who claimed to be in charge of watching over the house and "waiting for its second coming." The letters mentioned the couple's children as "young blood," among other troubling remarks. This caused the family much distress, preventing them from ever even moving into the home. To this day, The Watcher’s identity is still a mystery.

After many attempts to sell the home, which were drawn out over several years, the Broadduses finally did so on July 1, 2019. They sold the home to Andrew and Allison Carr for $959,000. The Broadduses originally closed on the home in June of 2014 for $1,355,657. While they sold the home at a roughly $400,000 loss, their overall financial loss was an even bigger hit when you factor in the real estate agent's cut, utilities, insurance, the renovations they started making, and more—all for a home they never moved into.

When the sale closed, the Broaddus family asked their real estate attorney to share a note with the new owners. It read: “We wish you nothing but the peace and quiet that we once dreamed of in this house,” The Cut reports. It also included a photo of The Watcher’s handwriting in case any new letters were sent. No new letters have reportedly shown up, and the Carrs haven't publicly spoken about the house or The Watcher case.
