Many MetroWest and Greater Milford communities have services planned for Memorial Day. All events take place Monday unless otherwise indicated.

Ashland. A taps and gun salute takes place at 9:30 a.m. at the Ashland VFW, 311 Pleasant St. A Memorial Day ceremony follows at 10:30 a.m. at Wildwood Cemetery, 76 Chestnut St.

Framingham. A tribute to 17 Gold Star families of Framingham veterans will highlight the city’s ceremony, to be held at 11 a.m. in the Memorial Building’s Nevins Hall, 150 Concord St. Ceremony will also include remarks from Mayor Charlie Sisitsky, state Senate President Karen Spilka and guest speakers retired U.S. Marine Corps Master Sgt. Charlie Duquette and Gregg Brasso, founder and executive director of Veterans Voice Radio. Prior to the ceremony, veterans and supporters will visit six historic cemeteries to honor deceased residents.

Holliston. Veterans meet at 9 a.m. at the VFW, 310 Woodland St., to prepare for cemetery visits. Lake Grove Cemetery, 9:30 a.m.; St. Mary’s Cemetery 10 a.m. Parade begins forming at 10:30 a.m. at the VFW and Robert Adams Middle School. Parade steps off at 11:00 a.m. Parade marshal: Robert Hopkins, World War II veteran. After parade and services, a collation will be served for marchers at the Holliston Historical Barn.

Hopkinton. Events begin at 9:45 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Woodville with the placing of a wreath by American Legion and Scouts representatives, followed by a reading of the Gettysburg Address and gun salute. Additional events take place at the King Flagpole on Mayhew Street (10:15 a.m.), St. John's Cemetery (10:30 a.m.), Mt. Auburn Cemetery (10:45 a.m.) and the Town Common (11:15 a.m.). Taps and the raising of the flag occur at noon. A light meal will be held at St. John’s Church after the services.

Hudson. The town’s Department of Veterans Services is sponsoring a traditional Memorial Day parade and ceremonies. Muster at 9:45 a.m. at AMVETS Post 208, 5 South St.; parade steps off at 10 and proceeds down South Street, to Houghton Street, to Main Street to Wood Square, to the Gold Star Monument and back to Liberty Park for a ceremony featuring speakers, music and rendering of honors. .

Marlborough. Memorial Day parade takes place for the first time since 2019. Steps off at 10 a.m. at the American Legion Hall, 90 Maple St. (Route 85) and ends at the war memorials on Granger Boulevard. Veterans, Scouts and elected officials are expected to participate.

Medway. After a two-year hiatus, the town will again have a parade leading to its Memorial Day service. Parade steps off at 10 a.m. at the Medway VFW, 123 Holliston St., and proceeds down Holliston Street to the Col. Michael Matondi Memorial Square. Instead of one grand marshal, the Memorial Committee is honoring all Medway veterans of World War II. Names of those from Medway who gave their lives in the cause of freedom are read aloud as an honor of their sacrifice. The town has purchased a banner for each fallen hero. Banners will be erected along Holliston Street.

Milford. Parade starts at 10 a.m. from Medway Road (Route 109) at Veterans Parkway, traveling east onto East Main Street (Route 16) all the way through town to the Post Office at the corner of Main and Congress streets. Motorists are strongly encouraged to seek alternate routes between 10 a.m. and noon.

Millis. A lineup takes place at 9:30 a.m. at the Police Station for a short march starting at 10 a.m. to the Veterans Memorial Building/Town Hall. All veterans are encouraged to participate. Ceremony runs from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Building/Town Hall.

Natick. After a flag-raising, a parade steps off from Moran Park at 8:30 a.m. and heads to the Natick Common for ceremonies at the GAR Memorial. Parade will then proceed for ceremonies at Dell Park and St. Patrick cemeteries, then to Indian Burial Ground. A separate ceremony at Glenwood Cemetery in South Natick takes place at noon. A light meal follows at the VFW, 113 West Central St. Also, a barbecue open to all is planned for 11:30 a.m. at the Natick AMVETS Post 79, 78 Superior Drive.

Northborough. Memorial Day parade and ceremonies begin at noon at the Civil War Memorial and the Gulf War Memorial at corner of West Main and Gale streets. Parade steps off at 12:15 p.m., marching to the Tri-War Memorial at the corner of Hudson and Pierce streets, then to the World War I Memorial at the corner of Church and Whitney streets, and ending at the Veterans Memorial/Flag Pole in the Howard Street Cemetery. Concluding ceremony will take place at the cemetery.

Southborough. Veterans are invited to gather at 8:30 a.m. at the VFW/Legion Post Headquarters, 28 Main St. Parade steps off at 9 a.m. from the Main Street Bank parking lot, proceeding down Main Street and then to the cemeteries and memorials. Ceremonies to occur at the Rural Cemetery, Burnett Cemetery and Revolutionary War Cemetery, and will include speeches/prayers, gun salutes and the trumpeting of taps.

Sudbury. The day begins with a salute at the Revolutionary War cemetery behind Town Hall. Parade steps off about 9:30 a.m. at Rugged Bear Plaza and ends about 11 a.m. at Grinnell Park, where a ceremony will take place. Parade marshal: Mike Milocivich.

Upton. Cemetery visits: 8 a.m., Lakeview Cemetery; 8:30 a.m., Maplewood Cemetery; 8:45 a.m., First Burial Grounds. Parade assembly takes place at 9:45 a.m. at the Memorial School. Parade marshal: Stephen Saucier, commander, VFW Post 5594. Parade steps off at 10:15 a.m. and proceeds to Upton Center. 10:30 a.m.: Memorial Day service presided by Russell Wood of American Legion Post 173.

Wayland. Memorial Day parade takes place for the first time since 2019. Steps off at 11 a.m. from Wayland Middle School and ends at Lakeview Cemetery, where a remembrance ceremony will honor soldiers who died at war. Grand marshal: Jack Barry, former Wayland public works employee and Marine veteran. Master of ceremonies: Richard Turner, Purple Heart recipient and retired Navy officer. Keynote address: Col. Troy Morton, Army Research Institute of Environmental Medicine.

Westborough. Memorial Day parade takes place for the first time since 2019. Ceremony at Minuteman Park at 8:30 a.m.; stops will be made at St. Luke’s Cemetery (9 a.m.) and Pine Grove Cemetery (9:40 a.m.). Parade then steps off at 10:10 a.m. near Pine Grove Cemetery on South Street and ends at the Forbes Municipal Building. Event will include veterans, military vehicles and floats. Grand marshal: Ken Ferrara, retired veterans services officer in town.
