After a chaotic school year for all Lee County students, parents, and teachers, the finish line is finally on the horizon.

With 119 schools and nearly 95,000 students, it is less than a month until the final bell rings for all Lee County District Schools.

As these final days of school approach and summer vacation looms in the distance, here's what you need to know about the last day of school for your student.

When is the last day of school?

The last day for every Lee County School District school is June 6. Despite having to make up three days and change two half-days following Hurricane Ian, the school year ended on schedule.

When is the last early dismissal day?

June 5 will be the final early dismissal day for the 2022-2023 school year.

When do seniors graduate?

What's the situation with summer school?

According to the district website, a special webpage has been created to aid in searching for summer school options. Parents only need to log on to view and learn about the more than 30 camps and programs.

Summer school options are available for PreK through 12th-grade students. Each camp is taught by a certified educator. They note that some camps are by invitation only and invitations to those programs have already been sent out.

When is it time to go back?

And once this year even ends, the first day of the 2023-2024 school year is only two months away. The first day of school is on Aug. 10 for students.

Breaks to look out for in the 2023-2023 school year

  • Schools are closed on Monday, Sept. 4 in observance of Labor Day.

  • Schools are closed on Monday, Sept. 25 in observance of Yom Kippur.

  • Quarter 1 ends on Oct. 13.

  • There are no classes on Monday, Oct. 16 for a professional duty day.

  • Thanksgiving break is Monday, Nov. 20 - Friday, Nov. 24.

  • Quarter 2 ends on Thursday, Dec. 21, which is also an early dismissal day.

  • Hurricane makeup day on Friday, Dec. 22.

  • Winter break is from Monday, Dec. 25 through Jan. 5.

  • There are no classes on Monday, Jan. 8, 2024, for a professional duty day.

  • Schools are closed on Monday, Jan. 15, 2024, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

  • Hurricane makeup day is on Friday, Feb. 16, 2024.

  • Schools are closed on Monday, Feb. 19, 2024, in observance of Presidents' Day.

  • Quarter 3 ends on Thursday, March 14, 2024.

  • There are no classes on Friday, March 15, 2024, for a professional duty day.

  • Spring Break is from March 18 through March 22, 2024.

  • Schools are closed on Friday, March 29, 2024, in observance of Good Friday.

  • Schools are closed on Monday, April 1, 2024, in observance of Easter.

  • Schools are closed on Monday, May 27, 2024, in observance of Memorial Day.

  • The last day of the 2023-2024 school year is May 31, 2024.
