Does Lizzie Borden's ghost haunt Fall River? TV show 'Shock Docs' says it has new evidence

FALL RIVER — A new paranormal reality TV show airing in early March promises "new evidence" that the ghost of Lizzie Borden still lingers in the house where her father and stepmother were killed and attempts to solve the famous homicides.

The Travel Channel's show Shock Docs, which explores alleged paranormal happenings across the United States, will air an episode dedicated to the Lizzie Borden House will air on March 5.

In a two-hour special, the episode description reads, "paranormal investigator Dave Schrader assembles a team of paranormal experts to investigate whether a dark family curse led to the most infamous axe murders of all time. With new evidence that Lizzie Borden's ghost resides in the murder house, they conduct a séance to unearth the truth and finally close the portal of evil forever."

It's been more than 130 years since Lizzie Borden's father and stepmother, Andrew and Abby Borden, were found murdered with what appeared to be a hatchet in their home on Fall River's Second Street. With Lizzie acquitted in their killing, the murders are still officially unsolved. The house has attracted plenty of tourists and history buffs, as well as lovers of the supernatural who claim remnants of Lizzie and other's spirits still reside in the house.

The house is now a bed & breakfast and museum. Since 2021, US Ghost Adventures has owned it, offering traditional historic tours along with opportunities to explore supernatural theories about the killings.
