Dog attack in Texas leaves a woman with a partially amputated hand

A woman is in critical condition after being mauled by a dog on Monday.

According to the Cy-Fair Fire Department, the woman was attacked in Katy, Texas, a town about 25 miles west of Houston.

Following the attack, the woman was treated by EMS at the scene before being taken to an area hospital via the Memorial Hermann Life Flight.

In one of the accompanying images that the Cy-Fair Fire Department tweeted in their announcement of the investigation, the victim could be seen being taken away by paramedics in a stretcher.

After arriving at the hospital, doctors discovered that the woman suffered from numerous bites, mainly on her hand leaving no choice but for doctors to partially amputate the hand, according to ABC13.

The dog involved in the attack belonged to the victim, neighbors said to Click2Houston.
