Dog attacks Coral Springs family, chews face of boy, 11, and then is stabbed his brother, 12

A Coral Springs woman and her two sons were attacked by a dog they were caring for, Friday, and when it was over they were bitten and the dog was stabbed.

It happened about 2 p.m. in the 2500 block of Northwest 106th Avenue.

The family was providing foster care for the pit bull when it turned on them, Coral Springs Police Officer Chris Swinson said Friday afternoon.

“The pit bull attacked the 11 year old and that’s when the 12 year old intervened,” he said. “The mom came out, got involved, and the pit bull turned on her. When the pit bull started attacking the mom, the 12 year old grabbed a knife and stabbed the dog.”
