'Dog the Bounty Hunter' Duane Chapman is 'under doctor's care' following health issue

Duane “Dog” Chapman is recovering after experiencing a health issue, according to a statement on his verified Twitter account.

"I can confirm Dog is under doctor's care and is resting comfortably," the statement posted Monday reads, attributed to a representative for Chapman. "Thank you for all of your well wishes- keep 'em coming."

USA TODAY has reached out to a rep for Chapman for further comment.

Bonnie Chapman, the 66-year-old "Dog's Most Wanted" star's daughter, wished her father well with an Instagram post, writing, "Love you, pops."

Chapman's stint in the hospital follows the death of his wife Beth Chapman in June after battling stage 4 lung cancer. Beth Chapman, who was 51, was transported to the intensive care unit at a Hawaii hospital days before she died and placed in a medically-induced coma.

Her grieving husband recently told Entertainment Tonight that "you're never, ever prepared" to deal with that kind of loss.

"You can't prepare. There is no way," he said. I did not know that this was going to happen that day... There is not another Beth. There'll never be another Beth. There ain't a girl built like another Beth."
