Dog the Bounty Hunter star Beth Chapman has died following her years-long battle with throat cancer. She was 51.

Beth’s husband, Duane “Dog” Chapman, announced the heartbreaking news on Twitter.

“It’s 5:32 in Hawaii, this is the time she would wake up to go hike Koko Head mountain. Only today, she hiked the stairway to heaven. We all love you, Beth. See you on the other side,” he said.

Beth and Duane married in 2006, after 16 years together. “I’ve already been cuffed and shackled by Beth anyway,” he said ahead of their ceremony in Hawaii.

People reported the pair tied the knot one day after Duane’s daughter, Barbara, was killed in a car accident at 23 years old. “They all decided unanimously they should celebrate the wedding and her life,” A&E senior vice president Michael Feeney said at the time.

Despite the personal hardship, Duane and Beth continued to stay positive together. But tragedy struck once again in September 2017 when Beth was diagnosed with stage 2 throat cancer. She reportedly underwent 12 hours of surgery to remove a plum-size tumor, and in November 2017, the Chapmans announced she was cancer free.

Sadly, her illness returned one year later. “Unfortunately, Beth’s cancer has come back. It’s serious and her doctors are evaluating her treatment options,” said their family attorney, Andrew Brettler.

Still, Beth and Duane refused to give up hope. They continued to film for their new show, Dog’s Most Wanted, and make public appearances throughout multiple hospitalizations and treatments.

In June 2019, Beth was hospitalized and placed in a medically-induced coma. On June 26, 2019, Beth passed away.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Chapmans, who include Duane and their children Cecily Chapman, Bonnie Chapman, Garry Chapman and Dominic Davis, during this difficult time.
