Dog the Bounty Hunter’s Beth Chapman has been hospitalized amid her ongoing battle with stage II throat cancer. Chapman — who is married to Dog the Bounty Hunter’s eponymous star, Duane “Dog” Chapman — was originally diagnosed in 2017. But, as first reported by Hawaii News Now, her situation seems to have taken a turn for the worse over the weekend, and Beth was placed in a medically-induced coma at Queen’s Medical Center on Saturday.

Although Beth underwent successful surgery to treat her throat cancer in 2017, last year saw the cancer return. In November, she underwent emergency surgery to remove a tumor in her throat before undergoing chemotherapy and other traditional treatments. Sadly, Dog confirmed to Us Weekly at the time that Beth’s cancer had spread to her lungs and was considered “incurable.”

The reality TV star’s family released a statement to Hawaii News Now over the weekend to “humbly ask everyone to please pray for Beth” and offer “sincere thanks to everyone for their prayers throughout Beth’s battle with cancer.” As for Chapman’s current condition, a rep for the Chapmans told People on Sunday, “It’s quite serious.” On Saturday evening, Dog and Beth’s 20-year-old daughter Bonnie shared a sweet throwback photo of her parents from summer 2018, simply captioning it with two red heart emojis. On Instagram, she also told fans about her mother’s coma, adding, “Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.” Then, on Sunday morning, Bonnie tweeted she was “on a flight home” to Hawaii.

Despite her illness, Beth has kept up her trademark good spirits and her work ethic — even filming episodes of the new WGN America series Dog’s Most Wanted with her husband. In late March, Dog alluded to his wife’s tenacity, telling DailyMail TV, “My baby has cancer and she is fighting like hell. I have cried a lot over this because Beth is my everything. Despite all of the obstacles I have overcome, this is by far the biggest test of my life and mark my words, I will not let her die. She is my rock and my bodyguard. I will do everything I can to keep her here.”

In recent months, fans have expressed concern for Beth after she implied during speaking engagements that she was had given up on chemotherapy in her continued fight against the cancer. She has reportedly also turned to her faith and to “alternative treatments,” per PopCulture.com. “Chemotherapy is not my bag, people. Sorry, that’s not for me,” Beth told a church congregation on Mother’s Day. “So for me, this is the ultimate test of faith.”
