Rescuers found Gravity over two years ago, abandoned in a yard in Tennessee. The poor pup had a broken back, a laceration in the spine, and straight-leg syndrome. The latter is a condition in which the knee joints fuse together, meaning that the legs become rigid and paralyzed.

There’s no cure for straight-leg syndrome at the moment. As a result, while Gravity has made some impressive progress, he can’t get around as easily as his fellow pups. But that’s where his splints come in.

An Impressive Recovery

After Gravity was rescued, PAWS New England and All 4s Rescue League cared for him, and moved him to Massachusetts. Here, he began his recovery, and took part in physical therapy sessions, PEOPLE reports.

Pet mobility company Walkin’ Pets donated adjustable splints to Gravity, offering support to the canine’s back legs and giving him more stability. As a result, he can walk independently.

Lindsay, Gravity’s foster mom, said that he “gets around really well with his braces. He likes to go for walks and go to the beach in them. He is super patient with me getting them on him, and they give him a lot more structure while walking”.

Up for Adoption – With His Splints

Lindsay has looked after Gravity for two years, but there’s not been a whole lot of interest in the dog from potential parents.

“Gravity has been with me for two years, and I fully intend to see it through until he gets adopted. No matter how long that takes, we know that the perfect forever home is out there for him,” she said.

The happy pooch enjoys spending time with children, cats, and other dogs alike, while his future pet parent should spend time at home and stick to a consistent routine. There’s definitely a forever home for Gravity out there – to apply to adopt him, you can head to PAWS New England’s website.
