There was a time in our lives when it was hard to talk about anything but Dolly Alderton's debut book Everything I Know About Love. And now, thanks to the news of a TV adaptation by the BBC, it's probably going to be on our minds a lot more.

Here's everything you need to know (wahey) about the BBC dramatisation, from the release date to the cast and even news of a trailer.

When will Everything I Know About Love be released?

The BBC and Dolly Alderton announced on the 20th May that there was only three weeks to go before the adaptation dropped, and we are SO excited. "COMING JUNE 7TH," Dolly wrote on Twitter. "Four friends. One story of great love. Everything I Know About Love, coming to iPlayer and BBC One from 7 June."

They also revealed the first trailer for the show, which you can watch here:

When was the Everything I Know About Love adaptation announced?

On Wednesday 18th May, the BBC revealed Dolly Alderton would be adapting her "wildly funny, occasionally heart-breaking, internationally bestselling memoir" for TV.

What will happen in the Everything I Know About Love adaptation?

While the book will act as as inspiration for the story, giving an unflinching account of surviving your 20s, the story will be slightly different. The official synopsis reveals:

"Maggie and Birdy, besties since school, finally land in London to live it large, when the unexpected happens – dependable Birdy gets a steady boyfriend. A generous, funny, warm-hearted and uplifting Sex & The City for Millennials which covers bad dates and squalid flat-shares, heartaches and humiliations, and, most importantly, unbreakable female friendships."

Speaking of the production, author Dolly added, "Everything I Know About Love is a semi-fictionalised adaptation of my memoir of the same name. It’s a messy, boisterous, joyful, romantic comedy about two best female friends from childhood and what happens when they move in to their first London house share and the first phase of adulthood.

"I cannot stress enough how thrilled I am that it is being made by Working Title and the BBC.”

We are SO excited for this.s
