Dolly Parton Just Posted an Extremely Emotional Tribute to Loretta Lynn

Country music icon Loretta Lynn passed away on October 4th in her home in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee. At the age of 90, the songwriter best known for "Coal Miner's Daughter" enjoyed a long career that spanned over seven decades and helped lay the foundation for women's voices in the country music industry.

Loretta's family made an official announcement on Twitter asking for time to grieve as they arrange a public memorial for fans of the country legend.

As the most awarded female country artist, fans flocked to Loretta's latest Instagram post that she shared two days before her death with a caption dedicated to John 3:20-21 from the bible.

As one of country music's most beloved voices, people left condolences in the late singer's comment post, including:

• "Prayers for the family. 🙏🙏 RIP 😢💙"

• "RIP queen ❤️"

• "RIP to one of the first country music ladies I listened to."

As a young girl from Kentucky, Loretta has always served as a symbol of determination. Her unforgettable voice and transparent lyrics resonated with fans from around the world which paid off as she was the first woman to be named "Entertainer of the Year" at the CMA Awards and ACM Awards.

The accolades just kept coming as Loretta proved herself a country music powerhouse in an industry that was largely dominated by male songwriters. Throughout her career, she won 3 Grammys, was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, celebrated her 60th anniversary as a Grand Ole Opry member and so much more.

Dolly Parton wrote, "So sorry to hear about my sister, friend Loretta. We've been like sisters all the years we've been in Nashville and she was a wonderful human being, wonderful talent, had millions of fans and I'm one of them. I miss her dearly as we all will. May she rest in peace."

Reba McEntire wrote, "Mama and Loretta Lynn were four years apart, Mama being the oldest. They always reminded me a lot of each other. Strong women, who loved their children and were fiercely loyal.

Now they’re both in Heaven getting to visit and talk about how they were raised, how different country music is now from what it was when they were young. Sure makes me feel good that Mama went first so she could welcome Loretta into the hollers of heaven!

I always did and I always will love Loretta. She was always so nice to me. I sure appreciate her paving the rough and rocky road for all us girl singers."

Darius Rucker wrote, "She was an iconic legend and did things the way she wanted. I am so blessed to call her a friend."

"Every Rose Has Its Thorn" singer Bret Michaels posted this tribute on Instagram calling Loretta "an incredible talent who forged the way for women in the entertainment industry" with a throwback photo of the two holding his famous guitar.

And Sheryl Crow shared a sweet photo of her sharing the stage with the iconc.
