At a Tuesday afternoon Dallas press conference prior to Thursday's 58th Academy of Country Music Awards -- that she's co-hosting with Garth Brooks -- Parton stated that her album's release was essentially her "earning" her rock credibility on what she's expecting will be a singular "legacy-defining" rock release in her career.

She's "getting a kick" out of the "rockstar" portion of her career so far.

The album's collaborative process saw Parton record some duets in person while others required her to use online, in-home methods of laying down vocal tracks.

She's aiming for her status -- similar to her November 2022-inducted Rock and Roll Hall of Famer status -- to "last many lifetimes." Moreover, she's excited for her rock-loving husband of nearly six decades, Carl Dean, to enjoy hearing his wife working with many of their shared favorite artists.

Dean's a fan of bluegrass and country acts like Merle Haggard and Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs, but Parton joked that he's a much bigger fan of "acid rock," citing Led Zeppelin as his favorite act.

"Nobody should cover 'Stairway To Heaven' and when he heard it, he joked it sounded like 'Stairwell to Hell," Parton offered.

Parton pairs with Lizzo to sing "Rockstar"'s version of "Stairway To Heaven." She and her goddaughter Miley Cyrus collaborate on "Wrecking Ball." P!nk, Brandi Carlile and the "Jolene" vocalist cover The Rolling Stones' "Satisfaction." Parton and Elton John cover the latter's 1974 hit "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me." Chris Stapleton and Parton sing Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band's "Night Moves." Those A-list collaborations merely scratch the surface.

About the album's original track "World on Fire" -- which will be released on Thurs., May 11, the same day the 77-year-old performer co-hosts and debuts the song to close the 58th Academy of Country Music Awards -- Parton stated via a press release that she felt "inspired" to write the "touching" song as it "speaks about everything and to everyone this day and time." She hopes it will "touch enough people to want to make a change for the better."
