Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovaila’s status for Sunday’s game against the Patriots is in doubt after the third-year quarterback entered concussion protocol on Monday.

This is the third time this season Tagovalia has suffered a concussion. The Alabama product originally suffered a concussion during a game on September 25 and another four days later on September 29.

While Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel did not state when his quarterback suffered the concussion, Tagovalia did bang his head on the field during Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers.

Despite the hit, Tagovailoa played the entirety of Sunday’s loss, throwing one touchdown and three interceptions.

If Tua is unable to play, Teddy Bridgewater will start at quarterback. Bridgewater has thrown three touchdowns and three interceptions so far this year.

The Dolphins and Patriots will enter Sunday’s game hoping to stop a reeling skid for both teams. The Dolphins have lost four straight games while the Patriots have lost four of their last five.

If New England beats their AFC East rival, they will overtake Miami for the AFC’s seventh and final playoff spot.

The Patriots and Dolphins will meet in Foxboro at 1 pm on Sunday.
