Dominick's Diner in Erie reduces hours because of restaurant staff shortage

Dominick's Diner, 123 E. 12th St., is in desperate need of staff and is reducing its hours because it can't cover all shifts.

The national shortage of restaurant staff has hit home at Dominick's Diner, 123 E. 12th St. Monday through Friday, Dominick's will be open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., according to a Facebook post. On Saturdays and Sundays, the hours are 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dominick's is still hiring and the hours might fluctuate more until it is fully staffed.

Brick House Coffee

The Brick House Coffee shop, 3741 W. 26th St., fully reopened Saturday, including in-house orders, indoor dining, outdoor dining (pet-friendly patio) and drive-thru ordering, according to its Facebook page. It had been open for limited services before a recent vacation. Hours are Mondays through Fridays, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Chelle's Cherryhill Chill

Cherryhill Chill, 8915 Rt. 6N, Albion, will be closed this Thursday through Sunday, according to its Facebook page, where they apologized for any inconvenience. Cherryhill Chill did not immediately respond to a question about the reason for its closure.

Markko Vineyard and Winery

Markko Vineyard and Winery will celebrate the blessing of the vines Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. at the vineyard (not the winery), 4500 South Ridge Road West, Conneaut, Ohio. New York Bagel & Deli

You no longer have to make the trek to 3720 West Lake Road for your New York Bagel fix. Popular flavors from New York Bagel & Deli are now available inside more than 30 Country Fairs around the region, according to the deli's Facebook page. Find the complete list at bit.ly/NYbagelerie.

Sheetz has the shakes

Baltimore-based Goetze’s Candy Co. Inc., caramel candy maker for 127 years, is working with Sheetz to launch a series of Cow Tales flavor-inspired Sheetz seasonal milkshakes, according to www.convenience.org.

The two choices out now include Caramel and Cream Milkshake with Cow Tales Flavors, and Strawberry Cream Milkshake with Cow Tales Flavors, at all 649 Sheetz locations in the mid-Atlantic region.

Caramel Apple Cow Tales will replace Strawberry Cream this fall, and Caramel Brownie Cow Tales Flavors will ring in the new year in January. Original Caramel and Cream will remain on Sheetz’s milkshake menu throughout the limited-time partnership.
