DONALD TRUMP: I will immediately tackle inflation and bring it down to a level that it was-- you know, we were at 0%. But actually, the best number is 1%. Do you know that? You don't want it really 0%. But we-- we were at 0%. We actually got it to exactly 1%. The perfect number. One thing every economist agrees, don't have it 0%, have it like at 1%.

AKIKO FUJITA: That was former President Donald Trump last night from his Mar-a-Lago state, formally announcing his third bid for the White House, touting the achievements of his one-term presidency, and vowing to fix the economy. The announcement comes as Trump faces multiple criminal and civil investigations, as well as a weaker-than-expected GOP performance for the 2022 midterms.
