Donald Trump's White House is leaking - literally - on the media

White House flooding, Jeffrey Epstein, Kevin Spacey and more of Monday news.

WASHINGTON – We know that President Donald Trump likes to pour cold water on the news media, but this is ridiculous.

Torrential rains in the Washington, D.C., area on Monday created floods all around the White House – and in the White House, including large puddles of water in the basement of the White House press room.

"It’s official: The White House basement is flooding," tweeted CNBC correspondent Eamon Javers.

It's not totally unique: The press basement is below ground level, and frequently absorbs water after heavy rains.

This particular storm – including an explosion of 0.69 inches in 11 minutes, according to Reagan National Airport – produced larger-than-normal puddles in the press room, requiring the deployment of air fans to suck them up.

"Update: swamp draining in progress," Javers tweeted. "WH leaks appear contained. Press pool dry."
