WASHINGTON - Former President Donald Trump will headline a CNN "town hall" next week in New Hampshire, likely site of the first primary of the 2024 Republican presidential race.

The former president and current 2024 Republican candidate will meet with New Hampshire voters on the night of May 10 at St. Anselm College in Goffstown; CNN anchor Kaitlin Collins will moderate the debate.

Trump "will take questions from Collins and a live audience of New Hampshire Republican and undeclared voters who say they intend to vote in the New Hampshire Republican presidential primary," CNN said in its announcement.

Trump has repeatedly clashed with CNN over its coverage.

Legal issues

Topics could well include Trump's legal troubles.

Trump is currently the defendant in a defamation lawsuit field by E. Jean Carroll, a writer who accused him of raping her in 1996.

The former president is also under criminal indictment in New York City, charged with falsifying business records and committing campaign finance violations over hush money payments to a former mistress.

Trump has denied all the allegations and claimed they are politically motivated.

Three other ongoing investigations also involve Trump: efforts to overturn 2020 election results in Georgia, the handling of classified documents, and the insurrection of Jan. 6, 2021.
