It's over. Donald Trump has officially left the White House. For good.

No, the inauguration hasn't happened yet, but Trump and company departed from the White House aboard Marine One early Wednesday morning, January 20, and do not have plans to return.

In his farewell speech, Trump said, “We were not a regular administration. I will always fight for you…. The future of this country has never been better. I wish the new administration great luck and great success.”

He then added, “We will be back in some form,” which sounds more ominous than anything, before saying, “Have a good life. We will see you soon.”

The photos of his departure are…something, for lack of a better word. They truly mark the end of a tumultuous four-year presidency. See just a few of them, below.

The Twitter reactions to all of this keep coming in. (Of course, Donald Trump won't be able to read them, as he's been banned from the platform.) “HE'S GONE” quickly started trending on Twitter.

“He’s gone! Our long national nightmare is over,” one person wrote. “Whew. He’s gone,” another person said, simply. A third wrote, “GOODBYE DONALD & GOOD RIDDANCE.”

There are a ton of funny videos and memes out there, but this message from author Ibram X. Kendi poignantly sums this moment up: “He's gone. And now, it is up to us to drive out what he represents. He is lies and bigotry and injustice and tyranny embodied—and the work is only beginning to drive him out of our body politic. Joy, today. Resolve, tomorrow.”
