Former President Donald Trump is headed back to Iowa this weekend, holding a Saturday rally in Des Moines in his bid to win the Republican presidential nomination.

It's Trump's second Iowa rally since announcing his 2024 candidacy, traveling back to the first-in-the-nation caucus state at the same time as the man who could end up his chief rival in the Republican primary, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Here's what you need to know about Trump's visit to Iowa this weekend.

Where and what time is the Trump rally in Des Moines?

The rally will be held at Lauridsen Amphitheater at Water Works Park, 2251 George Flagg Parkway, Des Moines.

Parking and the line to enter will open at 8 a.m. Saturday, and doors open at 2 p.m.

Guest speakers will begin delivering their remarks at 4 p.m., and Trump is set to speak at 7 p.m.

Why is Donald Trump coming to Iowa this weekend?

Trump's rally takes place on the same day DeSantis is attending two events in Iowa, widely viewed as an intentional move in order to maintain a presence in the state as one of his chief potential rivals aims to gain ground in the state.

Both candidates have both visited Iowa before: DeSantis held a rally in Davenport and met privately with lawmakers in Des Moines. Days later, Trump came to Davenport for his own rally, taking aim at DeSantis and accepting endorsements from several state legislators.
